How this works

The advertised fee is never the whole story.

What is the cheapest way to receive USD payments in India?
It depends on the amount and provider fees at the time — Wise and Skydo typically have the lowest combined FX margin and transfer fee among mainstream options, while bank SWIFT wires tend to be the most expensive per transfer due to flat fees plus a wider FX margin.
What is FIRC and why do freelancers need it?
A Foreign Inward Remittance Certificate (FIRC) — or eBRC for smaller transfers — proves that money you received was in foreign currency for services rendered. It supports GST export-of-service documentation and is often requested during ITR scrutiny or GST refund claims.
Is Payoneer or Wise better for Indian freelancers?
Wise generally offers a tighter FX margin with no markup games, while Payoneer is more widely accepted for withdrawing platform earnings (Upwork, Fiverr) directly. Compare both using the amount you actually receive, not just the advertised fee.

Fees shown are estimates combining typical FX margin and transfer fee — actual rates vary by provider, transfer size, and currency corridor. Always confirm current pricing on each provider's own site before a large transfer.
